Images in a box are the ones that are necessary to satiate the customer. Jean-Claude is the boss or rather the ‘boss of the pub’ as we call him : he goes up and down the stairs, comes and goes between all those cinema’s reproductions, K7, posters, film covers and some more stored images as well as sounds – like Ingrid Bergman’s voice who hums « as time goes by » in Casablanca, or James Cagney’s who hated Virginia Mayo in White Heat.
And Jean-Claude never stops, he selects movies for others, he packs, boxes into other boxes, tapes into tape cassette housings, tape cassette housings into bags. The movies pass from one hand to another, a hundred fifty francs of dream, as long as you have a VCR. And people pass by like a movie unrolls, like in a movie, unexpected personages…
