Punk Picnic tells the story of a community of squatters, of different ages and nationalities, who occupied an empty house and are still fighting for the right to stay there.
The film follows a year in the day to day life of the squatters, seen exclusively from their own point of view. Emerging from a long immersion in the experience, the film tells the story which is being lived out, in the mouvement of life lived apart, breaking with established values and ways of doing things.
By revealing the life of this community, its choices and occasional paradoxes, the film revives a number of themes which concerns us all : the right to housing, and how we relate to work, money, the idea of self-determination or freedom itself.
