“Children without a shadow” is a film dealing with life. It tells the story of Prof. Shaul Harel, alias Charlie Hilsberg, hidden when aged four at the end of 1942, and today an eminent neuro-paediatrician in Tel-Aviv. How did he survive during the Holocaust? How did he learn to smile again after the war? How did he rebuild his life? It is a tale of resilience, echoing those of thousands of others, and one that he tells finally to his own children, grandchildren, and to us the viewers.
