A portrait of Jean Louvet, a Walloon writer. A portrait that does not seek a resemblance with the author in the style of a biography, but rather with his work. The film shows how, since his first play “Le train du bon Dieu” (1962) to “L’homme qui avait le soleil dans sa poche” (1981), he has built up a theatrical universe where the signs of social utopia and history vie with those of absence, immobility, and death. A writer – who could be called Jonathan like the son of Alice and Grégoire in “Conversation en Wallonie”, written in 1976 – in landscapes deserted by men. Solitary words waiting for history in a country where the images of death are far too numerous.
