Three days of August 1914 is a diptych, a two-part film about the memory of the German atrocities at the beginning of the Great War in Belgium. In the first part, witnesses tell their family histories crushed by tragedy, a legacy that passes from generation to generation. In the second part, the film explores the perennial traces of the German massacres of August in several gummed villages in the Belgian province of Luxembourg. The memory of the killings and the fires still haunts the surrounding populations.
